I am trying to find a good desincrustation solution to use with my galvanic. While reading through some similar posts I have noticed a lot of people recommending the one from Universal Companies. Unfortunately when I looked on the website at this product I noticed it has parabens which I am steer clear of in all products I use. I also hear people use their own solution of baking soda and distilled water. Do any of you use anything different? What have you seen the best results with? Thank you!

Desincrustation solutions freak me out - aren't they all alkaline?  When trying to maintain the acid mantle on the skin, why would one use anything alkaline?  I'm confused and have never been able to get a straight answer.  Mind if we discuss this in this post?

I use lotion X by Christine Valmy...i love it best...paraben free...soak and squeeze excess off a cotton pad, peel apart for a thin cotton layer..apply to skin under steam for a few minutes...extractions are effortless...the stuff is already half hanging out. My clients thank me for less pain during extractions and it saves me time during the facial....I Love it...Baking soda works in a pinch but not near as good. As far as PH balance on the skin, i use apple cider vinegar (with the mother)  to correct it ...diluted of course, plus it works WONDERS on acne prone skin. Here are the ingredients of lotion x...

Water, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Arctium Lappa (Burdock) Extract, Saponaria Officinalis (Soapwort) Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Triethanolamine, Melissa Officinalis (Balm Mint) Leaf Extract, Salvia Sclarea (Clary Sage) Extract, Algae Extract, Viscum Album (Mistletoe) Fruit Extract, Hypericum Perforatum (St. John’s Wort) Extract, Juniperus Communis (Juniper) Extract, Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin.

Balm Mint Lotion— This herb calms irritated skin and has long been used to promote calm and sleep.  It is fragrant, calming and soothing, while it is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin.

Sage Extract—Known as salvia in Latin, meaning “to heal,” Sage has been recommended throughout history as something of a cure-all. Here, it is used for its astringent and antiseptic qualities.

Soapwort— This plant, also called Saponaria contains saponine. It is used to break down fat which liquefies the pores of the skin.

Mistletoe— This Christmas plant is used in our specific formula for it strong disinfectant and antibacterial properties. It is effective in tranquilizing the skin.

Christine - Now anyone out there who reads this, please correct me if I am wrong! Using galvanic for desincrustation needs to turn the skin from acidic to more alkaline in order for the saponification to occur. I only do this on very oily/acneic skin or only in areas on the face where it is needed. I would love to discuss this more if there are any other willing participants!!

Tracy - You only use the lotion itself, not with galvanic? I will definitely look into Lotion X, thank you!

lotion x is awesome...no galvanic !   just cotton and steam..i'm diggin it :)

Do you do a peel afterwards to return to an acidic pH?  My experience with myself and clients has always been that introducing alkaline substances results in a breakout.

I actually did bring home a bottle of Lotion X from a trade show once, but I wound up ditching it after trying it a few times with steam and Ultrasonic.

Darn Christine !  I wish you would've ditched the Lotion X my way  ;)  ...heheheh   Anyway, I use ACV with the mother to restore PH after Lotion X...it doesn't smell very "spa" like but oh well...its super affective and my clients know i like to use as much natural stuff as i can so they don't mind ......i saturate the cotton...peel it to get a super thin layer and put them under the steam for about 10 minutes....i barely have to squeeze..    P.S.  i always exfoliate BEFORE lotion X..  I know ultrasonic says you can use it for extractions but i havn't seen mine do very well for that.  I just use my ultrasonic for an extreme exfoliation with a facial scrub before Lotion X....Hopefully you'll give Lotion X another try?   Also, you could certainly do a peel after lotion X, the results are outstanding :)
