Just wondering if those of you that rent space stay at your location whether or not you have clients? I was then wasn't. I don't have internet connection at my location and even my iphone doesnt work well so I have been leaving alot especially if the stylists are not busy and doing work online running errands or out marketing.
Just wondering your thoughts. I was staying here and there and did pick up some clients that way.

I usually stay from 10:00 until 5:00 or 5:30 Tues. - Sat. I have internet access so that helps. I have been at my current location since September and I have had several people walk in for a wax. I don't get many walk-ins for facials or peels but I have had people walk in and get information and book an appointment for later. I have done a few facials or micro on people who were there to get their hair or nails done and just decided to do it spur of the moment. I have also sold a few products and gift certificates to people who were getting other services.
Overall I think it has been worth it. I took a few years off and now I'm trying to rebuild. I'm thinking about leaving at 3:00 on Saturdays but since that's one of the busiest days in the salon I just can't seem to do it.
I don't during the holidays until it picks up enough again which may be this week. Three nights a week I only stay by appointments. Anytime the front desk is not open, there isn't much point in staying either, not many will walk around. After 6 years being open we still don't get alot of walk-ins, so I may do nearby errands, 10-15 min. away, and I live w/in 10-15 min. the ones that won't wait for me to get there are also the same type that won't wait if I'm in a service. I lease space in a 51 room place.
I also have a brochure holder outside my door for brochures and business card. I fyour allowed a sign would be good as well.
