I would like to know what you all are using for your facials. I use cotton and towels and I had a facial today and she only used what felt like very soft tissues so i am assuming they were esthetic wipes....any suggestions?

In school I learned with towels- but that's a lot of laundry! Straight out of school I used sponges and now I use a combo of sponges and towels for my facial treatments. And I use cotton esthetic wipes during my chemical peel treatments.
It sounds like a lot to have on hand, but I feel each type serves a different purpose.
I also like to follow up with my clients to see if they have a particular preference.
It just depends on what I am removing.
If I have a particularly messy enzyme or masque I might remove most of it with wipes first.
And I defintely use wipes when removing and/or neutralizing a peel.
I don't use sponges.
I've used esthetic wipes, sponges and towels. Mostly towels, as I've found clients love the feel of their face wrapped in a warm towel.
I use baby burping clothes..they are super soft and just the right size for a towel wrap but not too big so that they get cumbersome. The problem is finding plain white ones. It's easy to find ones with ducks and bears on them! Clients won't really see it but I'm not sure i want to be looking at ducks and bears all day!
Shelley, I've used the burping cloths at one time, but found that it doesn't hold the warmth as long. How do you keep yours warm?
Walmart does carry plain white ones!
I am going to try this!!! I just bought a steamer for my towels (not a cabi) but the towels don't fit and I think the burp cloths would do nicely!
I use sponges, cotton and towels. I do not reuse my sponges though, I either offer them to the client or I toss them. In school they would re-use them and for some reason I just didn't like that, personally. I use a warm towel sometimes if my steamer is being stubborn and not heating up quickly to open the pores, use sponges when cleansing and removing, towels if I am removing a scrub or clay based mask, and the cotton /gauze 2x2s when I am toning, applying/neutralizing a peel, etc.
I had a facial too where they used what felt like a 4x4 and while I am tempted to try it (maybe on a family member first), I like the combo that I am using.
I thought about bringing in the Clarisonic too, but then the whole issue with using the brush head on everyone. Although I sanitize thoroughly and would have more than one, I just feel like people may think it's gross and the only reason I say that is this...went to an Esty that used one and her brush heads (that I saw after the treatment) looked disgusting!!
Yes Sheila I agree about the brush heads...I too have the clarisonic and would love to incorporate but the sanitizing is a problem
HHMM maybe Clarisonic has some advice on this. I will see if I can find something out.
Maybe you would have to have almost one for each client that day, then sanitize with antibacterial soap, spray with the hosp disinfectant, then maybe UV sterilizer??
If it could replace doing a scrub I would love to bring it in. I hate using scrubs because I feel like even though I wash my hands, towel it off and then wipe with clean water and sponges, there is still a grit or two that is still there and I can feel it during the massage. drives me insane and then I am stressing if the client can feel it and if it's uncomfortable.
I used to have 5 clarisonic heads and after every client i washed them, dried them and soaked them in Barbicide for 10mins....they always kept clean, plus because i had 5 of them i could keep rotating them so one head wasn't getting too much wear and tear.
great idea, I was thinking I would probably need that many. Do you retail it as well?
