European Wax Center and Massage Envy Expands into Facials

My fast-growing town just had 2 recent changes. Our local (and extremely successful) Massage Envy location has doubled their floor space in order to add facial services. It seems they are extremely busy doing these now. They are hiring Esty's left and right.

Additionally, a franchised European Wax Center just opened up as well in the same shopping plaza as Massage Envy. Not sure yet how they will do but they are going full court press to lure customers in the door.

Do any of you work at one of these places? What is your thought on them?

For those that compete against them as sole proprietors, what is your experience as far as losing customers to them...or perhaps, gaining customers who weren't happy with these more corporate type places?

Just curious about it. They are corporatizing esthetics services and in my area at least they are succeeding quite well with it. At least, the Massage Envy is. Just wondering what your thoughts are out there about it. If they are charging $49 for a facial the "other" places in town are trying to get $65+ for.......well, looks hard to compete in some ways.

European Wax Center doesn't offer facials..

I'm not threated by Massage Envy performing facials in my area. I have both companies close by to my spa. I have many more facial treatments/technology I offer, my facials are more detailed, and I work with better skin care products.

I charge $125 to $150 for my facials.
