Ok I am in need of everyone's input. I have a client who came in a few days ago for her 5th Brazilian and she had as much if not more hair than her very first appointment. She comes in every 3-4 weeks. Can anyone tell me why this has happen to her? What could cause it, and why?
I would like to add she has not been shaving between visits.
Hi Crystal,
Did you do an client consultation form along with your consent form to see if she is on meds, bc or any other health concern. Has the rebook appointments been consistent? You stated 3-4 weeks it should be exact especially with a new client. At her first appointment did you ask if she was a shaver prior to becoming your client? Is she using an ingrown product?
Stephanie
I struggled with this myself. I have dark thick hair, it has taken about two years of waxing every one-two weeks to finally get a result. I still wax some places every week, underarms, upper lip and eyebrows. sounds like over kill but it's not my hair really grows that fast.
Genetics is the major player as to the response of more growth. It's rare, but there are clients who produce just as much hair in between waxing appointments. Just to be sure the hair is not breaking upon removal, check to see that you can view the keratin bulb at the end of the hair shaft. There are products available to retard regrowth and Epillyss Prohibit Roll-on is one option. It's applied after cleansing the area after waxing. You can use the Prohibit Spray in the wax room and retail the roll-on for the client to use at home twice daily for the next 3-4 days. This product slows the enzymatic action forming the hair bulb in the papilla. It also has antibacterial properties and is beneficial in controlling breakouts.
