Eyelash Extension Inquiry
My clients are requesting Eyelash Extension services, and I'm hoping for pro/con feedback from the professionals.
After reviewing online content I am leaning toward NaturaLash.

I had to do a very quick study on this subject and I didn't get to choose my product line, it was chosen for me. Xtended Beauty is an easy one to learn and practice with. You can order it through Universal Companies. Good luck!

I know this is an older post, but I came across it and wondered if you ever went through with the lash extension training? I have seen NaturaLash online and was wondering if their training / or products are of the same quality as Xtreme or Nova?

JB lash has an online course that will get you started for $150. The glue is $80' lashes $35/case. I am happy with the line. I haven't used any others though. I love doing eyelash extensions and it is in high demand. I've been doing it for a year and I have 2-3 repeat clients per day, new full sets about once a week. I charge $150 for a full set and $25 per week on fills (ie. $50 for two week fill, $75 if they waited 3 weeks). It's not for everyone, so don't lower your prices because people who want it oh so bad cant afford it.
This service is best for estheticians who are extremely anal retentive/detail oriented. And also, be prepared for very picky high-maintenance clients. It just attracts those people. Because they pay so much for them, they want it done right. And they're very easy to screw up by clumping up glue, placing them incorrectly, or not planning them out properly. But, once you get the hang of it, and you have very happy clients walking out the door, it's very rewarding. Lashes are a cheap facelift, they make that much of a difference. Anybody and everybody instantly looks better. They wake up feeling pretty and tons of people give them compliments. So it's a worthwhile service to offer. Your challenges are going to be learning to get them done fast without sacrificing quality. It will take time and experience to get there.

Thanks for the information. I am definitely the picky Esty! I don't know why I haven't started doing lash extensions yet, but now I have it in my mind I'm obsessed! I will check out JB lash. How is their glue? When do they need to come in for a fill after a full set with that product? Is three weeks typical? Thanks for the pricing tips as well. I think that is a fair price to not budge on.

It's recommended that clients come in every two weeks. It's a high maintenance service as far as appointments go. Lots of people wait till closer to three or four weeks but I make it very clear that I expect them at two. The clients that follow this have the best looking lashes.
The glue is great. They have a 1-2 second drying glue for when you get faster that will help increase your time. I have a little table fan that I have blowing on my client the whole time so I don't have to use the puffer. I go back and forth between eyes to ensure adequate drying time but there's still some stick so I constantly brush them out and separate the lashes.

I favor C curl but I have a variety. Get mink C curl in size 9-15, 20mm. That's a good place to start. I will do moderate size sets in (13, 11, and 9) and (14, 12, and 10). Most in 13-11-9. I start with the largest size13, frame it in and do 9 in inner and outer corners, then fill all throughout with 11s. I always go in order of large, small, medium. Also, a quick tip, don't take the strips out of the container, just set your jade stone in the lid and place next to the clients head, then switch boxes as you work out of the container. That way you don't mess up the strips or mix up strips.
