Hi everyone,

Looking for ways to bring in new clients....  It is so S L O W right now, at least for me.  And, I am in Florida so it's not due to the northern weather.  My regulars have been canceling, no new calls coming in...  I have sent out email blasts, in shop package specials, take Spa Finders, take my menus around town, social media (FB).

I've been in business for myself over 7 years ( by appointment only)  with my main focus on professional skin care ( I am a licensed full specialist esthetician) as well as a licensed massage therapist and also do natural nails (mainly pedicures).

What's everybody doing to get in new clients?  I am at a loss at what to do next.

I know a lot of people dread it but the honest truth is that LivingSocial, Groupon and the like got my business going as a newbie.

True, a lot of voucher holders are just looking for a deal, however, 80% of my current clients were "Groupon Clients" and they stuck around paying regular price.  The key is to set yourself apart.  A lot of people are genuinly looking for a good massage/facial place to go regularly and do not want to risk to pay full price for a crappy service.  I myself have been to lots expensive massage or facial places with mediocre services. 

I have the same setup: appointment only, and you just have to work with Groupon and set the limit for amount of deals you want to sell.

Think of it this way: you are trading labor for advertising instead of paying out of pocket.

Thanks Victoria, maybe I'll have to look into these again.  I mainly have been using Spa Finder for such a need, being in a small town that is also a tourist town it has worked out for me, though they take such a high %, but on the upside I get 90 % return rate with all my snowbirds.

Victoria, I just opened my business and signed up with Groupon. The deal will go out on March 11th. I hope I have success with it. I'm basically giving away my services, but if it brings me regular clientele I will be so happy.

Thanks Betty Bliss, I had used the word search here but most post were dated in the 2011-2012 and was looking for something more current.  I'll make sure to use 'marketing' and see what comes up.

And this is also to any newbies...

It is a huge mistake to EVER relax on promoting your business and/or to allow marketing to stop for this very reason. What ever you did to attract customers is what you should do again and then also look to FaceBook and local things to attend.

With that said, expect the same time frame with regards to new clients coming in...DO NOT EVER RELAX!

Marty, thanks for the reminder, though I have never stopped my marketing and I am doing the same things I have been doing to get my clients in (as stated in my OP).  Been on Facebook (FB) since 2008, so that is why my question and looking for a new fresh approach or ideas for such.

 

Jan 2015 has been my best Jan in 3 years, but it is as tho Feb is at a stand still.... I don't know?

I held an event at my church to demo a treatment that I like to do and that is easy to perform in front of people.  That got me about 10 clients!  If you don't attend a church, ask a friend who does and see if she would hook you up. Most churches have a ladies group and they are always looking for speakers for their luncheons. Most of these ladies are also in our target range. Hope that helps.
