I have had a hard time getting used to wearing gloves, (LMT 13 Years and lic. esty since Aug), but I dif. are wearing them for work down there! If nothing more than being more professional and protection against diseases etc. You can't worry about what others do, but you have to protect yourself and your clients.

Completely agree...please read a blog I wrote on this a few months ago (taken from one of my chapters in my book)...show them the blog and this might change their mind!  I hope so... http://www.twigsandberriesbook.com/uncategorized/why-we-wear-gloves...

Not wearing gloves when working down in the vagina area can be classed also as invasive and somewhat sexual.  If a doctor was to go down there without gloves on regardless of whether it is male or female....they will get sued for improper, sexual intentions.

Totally right on Claire.  Wearing gloves is not big deal, you just have to get used to them and get gloves that fit...like a glove :)  Nitrile and non latex gloves are best.  Try a few different ones until you find one that works for you.  If you use soft wax, put a bit of oil on your gloves to prevent so much sticking together.  It's creepy not to wear gloves when working in the privates.  Gloves give the client a sense that there is a barrier there between the skin on skin and the technician peace of mind that they are protected against those private bodily fluids and such.
