Hello,

I am new here, and am so pleased to have found a forum for discussion on skin care.

I have a question on glycolic peels. I have always performed them alone, after cleansing and exfoliation. if i was to put steam on them as they have glycolic on the face, will that speed up the neutralizing of the acid with steam blowing on their face or is it just straight water that neutralizes it.

i am feeling that if I steam, it helps the client to feel better with the glycolic on. Is that becuase its not working as well?

HELP!

thanks

Hi Kimberly,

To neutralize a chemical peel it's best to add baking soda to your water.  The seam won't do much neutralizing it, it could make it spicier.  It also can also depend on the % and the pH of the peel.  I love Skin Script chemical peels!

Hope that helps...
