Talk to her and see how her skin does after the first treatment- if she peeled a lot and is "red" I would wait 10 or so days- otherwise every week will be ok. 2 weeks max
On a 10% gly peel do you really think that she would peel at all?
I have cleansers with a higher %.
If doing a series you could do the 10% just to see how skin reacts, but then work up to a 30%.
Depending on the skin and how it reacts you could go every week (or longer), maintenance would be monthly.
If you go with a TCA 10% or 15% you would need to let the skin rest between peels for a longer period.
I've seen some pretty good results by using a TCA peel (I use the Sensi Peel or the Ultra Peel 1 from PCA). I have a client that I'm thinking about combining a micro with the lighter TCA to see how he reacts. I usually wait about 3-4 weeks in between sessions with a TCA. How long do you wait?
Vero - I don't use a 10% Glycolic. I would agree to go back to the manufacturer on this - do you think that this is more of an "at-home" peel than a pro peel?
I have a 20% fruit acid blend that I have often used for first timers - but generally use a 30% lactic or glycolic or other blended peel for better results in series and maintenance.
It's good that you are being cautious though. I tend to use products on myself before using on clients. Have you given yourself one of those peels yet?
I've done a few of those kinds of series using the SKinceuticals Gel Peels. The only issue I had was that by the end of the series my clients were begging for me to do extractions. My suggestion: Alternate quick 30 minute facials in between the peels: do a peel, then two weeks later do a facial, then two weeks later do facial, etc. Have you ever thought about using a TCA peel?
Please do not take this the wrong way...
I would highly recommend contacting the company that supplies this product and asking them (not that that asking the forum is a bad idea). But...They should be giving you the information needed for their particular product/formula. This esthy group can give you ideas/suggestions, but you should really be going back to the supplier for specifics.
Hi, I do higher peels once a week for 8 wks for the best results.
always refer to the manufacturer instructions for your own liability and to avoid "guessing" with your clients skin.
