Hi Everyone!

I just had a quick question.

I go out a lot by myself and with friends. But my question is that how do you look when you go out? Do you wear nice jeans/capris and instead of a T-shirt wear a nice shirt? Cause I am going through losing weight and exercising and going through these fashion books self-help. and was curious if the way we look bring up business as well?

I am going out in a few minutes and I am wearing capris, and t-shirt with my favorite bands name on it. Good idea or bad idea?

Thanks for your opinion!

Be yourself!

Thanks!

I just think it's easiest to approach people if you feel comfortable and feel that you are representing your true self.

Hi! Melissa,

I think you should dress up look professional!

Amanda

Thanks!

it really depends on you and where you are going and who you are associating with.

We can't go out anywhere without running into one of our spa's customers, or even potential customers.

since we are selling beauty, we always have to look put together.  Wife always has a manicure pedicure that week, fusses over every outfit and shoe selection.

When someone asks "what do you do?" you won't make a very good impression saying "I own the day spa/apothecary at ___________" if you don't have your nails done, make up on and looking like you own the place

very true!

Dress to impress! Every person you meet is a potential client.  You can dress down, but ALWAYS have hair and makeup done.  I have a friend who is an Esty and she always looks like she is going to a wedding.  I always look like crap since I had a baby and it's been hard to fit into stuff and get makeup on with an infant.  :D Good Luck with the weight loss! It's tough so keep up the good work!

I don't know, I sort of disagree about makeup.  I used to rent my room in the back of a makeup store and really drove myself crazy with makeup.  Now I wear it to work maybe twice a week.  My skin speaks for myself, and I sell way more products, as well as book more lash tints, by going out with a clean face as a sample of my work.

That's great when you don't have hormonal skin with both break outs AND melisma! but for the rest of us, it's imperative to wear makeup so that we always look presentable and best face forward.  With that said, I rarely use a lot of eye makeup and always do foundation.  I am getting on in years also so I also HAVE to do eyebrows and lips and mascara or eyeliner because as you age, these things loose pigment.  YOU are your best marketing source. People want to look like you will ask for your advice.

I will keep that in mind, thanks!
