Getting a groupon highlight the end of November. I have to say I am very excited about seeing new faces come through the door. Has anyone had an experience with this?

I've done both Groupon and Living Social with GREAT success! It's all in the way you handle these new clients. If you end up selling a lot of treatments, don't let yourself get overwhelmed. Remember that you are in control of your appointments. The worse thing you can do is book yourself so tight that you burn out and then you are not able to give your best to these new potential long term clients.

We had one go out at the end of September.  It has been great, and Shelley's advice to space the appointments out is sage advice; it is very easy to burn out.  We are only about 1/5 of the way through the coupon purchasers, and are offering an incentive to all the living social clients who come through our door (20% off your next two services on anything in the salon or spa) and that has been a huge hit so far.  We have experienced a fair amount of deal-seekers who are only out there looking for a deal, aren't interested in product, don't want to add on any upgrades and tip 10%, (if at all)...which can sometimes be discouraging, so don't let that get you down if it does!  All in all, I would say we would do it again, but not for a while, maybe once every two years so as not to burn out :)  But definitely consider coupons or something like that to hand out to the clients after they redeem their coupon, it will get them back in the door!
