Hi fellow skin care friends...

I have a question for all of you sole proprietors... I own and operate my own small waxing studio. I have been in business for two yrs. now and things are going great. I have a vacation coming up in september to Italy!!! I don't want to close my doors for 11 days but the vacation is much needed.

I don't want to loose any potential clients. My current clients understand and have all made appointments for before I go or after I come back. Does anyone have any suggestions for closing shop? Should I get a sub or should I just close? I want to maintain my brand but I want to make sure I am able to provide the same level of service.

Thanks for the advice... xoxo

I would just make sure all your current clients know. Book heavy before and after your trip. Leave an outgoing message that you are on holiday between the certain dates. Go to Italy, eat some pasta, drink some vino, sit in a cafe, take a pic on the Spanish Steps and people watch! There will always be potential clients but only 1 Italy! Ciao!!

yes, take your vacation and let it all go for the time you're away.

Bringing in a temp/training someone else to cover you, is really just going to mean you'll be working while you're away (checking in, checking messages, worrying about your space, etc).

Let your clients know, leave a voicemail message so anyone calling will know.  If you have online booking, direct inquiring clients there so they can book for when you return.

And have fun!

Agreed with everyone else! Just go, don't let yourself stress. Your obvious commitment to standards will keep those clients coming back in when you get back. :)

perfect!!! I was feeling a bit unsure. I am now more confident knowing it's okay to just go away and have fun!!!!! Thanks so much for the support. I NEEDED that! Viva Italia!

:)
