Hi, I am new to the forum and I currently in Esty school. Our class is currently on the floor and we are working on clients. Interestingly, I've had a couple of clients with the same issue which I can't seem to figure out. A couple of clients have come in with what look like pimples, but after examining their skin in the skin scope, it is showing that their skin is dehydrated/dry. I would have thought that they would have oily skin.

Our school uses Eminence & BioElements. What causes this and what would be the best treatment plan & home care regimen for the client?

Thanks for your help in advance!

I came across this issues yesterday. Extremely dehydrated skin yet oily with acne. I have a hard time deciding what to treat in the facial and for home care.
I ended up treating both clients with products that added moisture back into the skin. I recommended to both to add moisture to their at home regimen. I'll see them in 2 weeks so I hope their conditions have gotten better.

Sometimes this is a situation where the client is failing to moisturize their skin. Dry/dehydrated skin is not the same a normal skin. People tend to use harsh products on their skin to dry out the oil. Then they do not rehydrate the skin to return the normal moisture the skin needs. Moisture is not oil!

Oily skin needs hydrating when you dry out the oil. It's a hard concept to make people understand, Treat the acne breakout but also moisturize the skin with an oil free moisturize designed for oily skin. Otherwise you just wind up with dry, dehydrated skin with pimples. The acne will also clear up faster of you feed the skin what it needs, moisture.

Thanks for breaking it down for me! I think it's a concept that I need to learn to explain to the clients in a way that makes sense.
