I'd appreciate any input, bits of wisdom that you all have! I'm an 8 year solo practitioner, with my own 1 room salon that is by appointment only. I'm out of town several times a year for a week at a time and would like to have clients serviced while I'm gone, as well as have someone picking up hours that I'm not there during the week when I am working. Plus, I would like to earn money while I'm not at the salon. So . . . I'm thinking I will pay by commission for both services & product sales (not sure what %). I will have an employee manual, accountant doing the taxes, online booking (Full Slate) keeping all the appointments, require insurance, train her (unpaid). I know I need someone mature & responsible, What else do I need to think about? Non compete clause? I appreciate your help, I really nervous about taking this step.
