I get paid an hourly rate of $12.50, no commission on sale of products, no bonuses, no benefits. My option when I started was to be commission or to be a higher hourly rate with no commission. Since I was new and had no clients I chose to be hourly. This has been the same since I graduated school and got the position as an esthetician at the med spa I work at. It's been almost a year and I am a master esthetician now. I should have a yearly review coming up soon. So should a wait to see if I get a raise at my yearly review and bring up that I would also like to get commission on products I sell or should I bring it up now? Maybes medspa is different but I feel kinda like I should be getting some commission on products. Seems that that is industry standard? I also feel like my hourly rate is a little low compared to other states I've looked into. Thanks for any opinions/advice!
