Hello,

I am one of three estheticians working part time at a day spa. I get paid by commission on services and the spa operates by appointment only-no set hours of operation.

How do I get the word out to have clients book with me when it is not my own business? The owner does not believe in traditional marketing. Besides telling friends/family, what other options do I have?

bring your business cards and menus to near by businesses, maybe create a facebook page for the business and get your friend's friends to like it.

I have gotten a lot of business for our spa off facebook and doing email marketing such as icontact.  How much comission do you make? I am trying to negoiate so asking around.

I created a Facebook page and I use that to get the word out. It's called Skin Care & Waxing by Jodi at Elements to Wellness if you want to check it out.  I also have an ASCP website.   Are you allowed to discount on your own?  I have done things like if I reached 75 'likes' on my FB page, everyone gets $10.00 off their next treatment.  It motivates people to share the page.  I also have business cards that I stamped with $15.00 off your first facial or peel, and hand them out.  Maybe you could leave some in restuarants or something?  Word of mouth is great, offer a referral discount...for every referral someone sends you, they get a discount on their next service.   Hope this helps!  My boss is wonderful with marketing us, but I've worked for places that weren't and I know how you feel.  Good Luck!
