Your client comes in for her regular facial treatment and you notice that she is developing a little hair on her lip or that her brows needs some attention. Up until now, she has only been a facial client, how do you open that door for waxing? Let's hear your "pick up" lines ladies. :)
I like your idea of hanging an add-on sign in the facial room. It makes it easy to approach the subject, makes the client feel like it's their choice and not pushed upon them. I will be trying this.
Great idea to post your add-ons Lori.
When I am doing a facial treatment and notice that a client's brows need doing I will say,
"would you like me to take care of your brows today, looks like they could use a clean up" People are more open to having their brows done.
The lip is trickier. I always think, if it were me, I'd want someone to tell me if I were walking around with a mustache. Sometimes clients are embarrassed to ask, so it's up to us to broach the subject. I find that most women shave their lip and when they find out they can wax and have it last longer, they are all for it. So the conversation might go something like this;
Me: "have you ever had your lip waxed?"
Client: "I usually shave", or "I've never had it done before, does it need it?"
Me: "it could use doing. I know it's a touchy subject to bring up, but I always tell my friends if they ever see me running around with a hairy lip they better tell me"
That usually breaks the ice and makes them feel more comfortable.
Women, in general, don't want to walk around all hairy and even though you may list your offerings, that might not be enough for them to ask for them. They may need a bit more coaxing and reassuring and educating.
At least this is what works for me
Yes Lori, love that add on list, I think I'm going to copy this! Thank you!!
I have done it similarly Crickett, If I see it needs to be done I just ask if they would like for me to take care of it since they are already lying there on my table. I tell them it would be just an extra quick step during the facial.
I too have an add-on list with add-on paraffin, special masks, etc and then a list of add-on discounted facial waxing services displayed in my facial room. They get $5 off facial waing services when done with a facial. I will also ask if they would like me to clean up their brows for them and they always say yes, but I too am hesitant to bring up lip/chin because it is a touchy subject. If they are a new client I usually do not ask, but if they are repeats and we have a relationship when I do their brows I ask if they would like to add on a lip or chin (at a discount when combined with brows). They usually will say yes, and I find that alot of my clients also shave or nair their facial hair.
