Anyone able to tell me what is the average time it takes to get rid of or lessen the appearance of hyperpigmented areas without doing an aggressive treatment ?

Hi Sandra-its definitely a complicated issue, it depends on the type of pigmentation, fitz skin type and other lifestyle issues such as hormones, sun exposure etc. In general with a melanin inhibiting serum, gentle enzyme/acid exfoliation and daily use of SPF 30+ you could be looking at around 180 days or more. This is a great question to post on ASCP's facebook page as well, everyone has different experiences based on their product line and modalities used.

Feel free to email me directly at sschmaling@ascpskincare.com if you would like more detailed information.

Susanne, 180 days or more sounds along the lines of what I was thinking.  Of course spf is so vital, but it is not always easy to get clients to see the seriousness of it and commit to using it daily. Thanks for your reply !

Hi Abby, I ask this question for myself because I am dealing with a patch of PIH from acne which was hormone/stress induced. As well as for a couple of my clients with similar situations. I have done a series of microderm on myself as well as enzyme/ glycolic peels, brightening peptide serums, and skin brightener with 2% hydroquinone. Still have the pigmentation. It appears to be lightening up  but very slowiy. Thanks for the reply and tips, definitely checking you out on your site :) .
