Some of you may remember me asking questions about opening up my own room... well, today I got the authorization of running my own groupon deal (it should be live in the next few days) and I'm very excited about this!!!

Any advice you ladies may have that can be useful? what not to do, what to do, any special supply I need to stock up real good, how to deal with no shows or late cancellations? how many treatments a day would you do max? any suggestion is very welcomed!!!

I also changed my domain name, and my website it's all nice and updated - ready to take up new clients. SO EXCITING!!!!

Good luck on your new venture! At a spa where I previously worked, we made special package deals for the Groupon users. Once they had completed the service they purchased through Groupon, we had them at the checkout desk for retail sales and then offered a series at a greatly discounted rate, just for "grouponers". It can be something you normally sell but at a better rate, or something you put together just for this client group. They had 24 hours after completing their groupon service to decide whether they wanted to buy it. Many did take us up on this - about 50/50 on those who purchased it right away and those who called the next day with a credit card to take advantage of it. This seemed the best way to get the retention rate up on people who only came with groupons. Be creative - you have lots of services you could combine for multiple return visits!

Thanks M Elaine! I have a plan similar to that for sure. I'm thinking offering the same deal to repeat treatments at the same price (will honor same groupon prices) but they will pay *me* instead of groupon. I will offer at least the following 2 to 3 treatments at the same discounted price, as long as they get a back to back booking.  I just really worry about the no shows or late cancellations :/

As long as you have them purchase it (pay upfront!) within a short window - before they leave, or within 24 hours of completing the Groupon appt - and then book the new appointments, you should not have a problem. I think your plan is good!
