I'm going to say steamers and mag lamps don't count as machines for this question, even though they plug into the wall. :) So, you have a steamer and a mag lamp, and you can have just ONE other treatment machine/device. What would it be?

I'll use some of the answers in the next issue of ASCP Skin Deep magazine!

Do hot towel cabbies count? I could not be without it because a hot towel feels so good to the client and make for easy removal of product.

Looooooove hot towels. I want hot towels at home too. And everywhere. :)

Microdermabrasion, except since I only have the option of one machine, then I'd make it a crystal microderm machine with the secondary option of diamond tip, and now I'm seeing microderm and oxygen all in one too so, that's what I would choose if I had too.. A really good oxygen crystal/diamond microderm machine. Because it's very result oriented, the most advanced result oriented treatment I can think of that doesn't require any down time, doesn't use chemicals, and with the 3 functions, there's something for everyone. I can get creative with making the treatments relaxing for the clients, aromatherapy, steam, etc, and I'm sure I could get creative with finding another way to make hot towels if I had too, but in my view, it's even more important to give them really good results, so they can feel their best even outside the treatment room, and have skin they love.

Very well thought out answer! Thank you!

DermaSound Elite - We absolutely love ours and our clients are addicted. It can be used on all skin types - even rosacea and highly sensitive skin. Shows immediate results after one treatment. Reduces fine lines and wrinkles, hydrates skin (gives plumped up effect), exfoliates, kills bacteria, evens skin tone, product penetration, collagen production stimulation. Great results from this machine and you only use distilled water. It is a bit pricy but ours has paid for itself in the first year since we've had it.

I agree 100% - Dermasound Elite!

Not only does this machine exfoliate the skin by cavitation, but it also penetrates product and returns the skin to homeostasis after any treatment.

I feel that this machine is an extension of everything I want to accomplish on the skin as an Aesthetician.

What is Dermasound and how does it work?

It is a specific brand of sonic skin spatula.

Are there many brands to pick from? If so what would be a good but lease expensive brand?

There are a lot to choose from.  I have purchased them from Bellaire Industries.  There are cordless models, but my understanding is that the tabletop models are more powerful.  I have them in 3 treatment rooms at my studio.

Thank you Christine!

Sure, you also want to be sure the company will repair them reasonably and quickly. They need to be calibrated from time to time, especially if you drop the hand piece.
