If you could work anywhere, what would your perfect location look like?

This is our question for the next issue of ASCP Skin Deep magazine. Anywhere in the world, any employment situation, any type of clients, any kind of booth or building or treatment room, any budget! Be as detailed or as general as you like. What is your dream workplace as an esthetician?

My ideal skin spa would be my own, with soothing colors and music, and specializing in antiaging and relaxation combined.  I want to move to a town near my current location that has a huge tourism industry.  They need more spas and my dream is to open one there and create tourism packages with the bed & breakfast inns. I want it to just be skin and massage, no hair or nails.  Quiet and soothing.

I would like to work her - Honduras, Roatan (photo was taken in July 2013 at Infinity Bay Beach Resort and Spa), as a skincare professional at the resort. And on my free of work time, I would like to scubadive :).

I have a few...

Tahiti or Bora Bora in one of those little bungalows in the middle of the water.  I think it would be really awesome to have a glass bottom floor to see fish and things like that.  I would also settle for having this in Islamorada :).

Another idea, this would be local..

I would love to have a spa that has technology where either the client can change the theme of the room so they could be receiving treatment in the middle of a tropical island, jungle or rainforrest, mountains, snow, etc.  The walls could be like movie screens and you could change the scene.  I think this would be so awesome!

Dream to have a space that offers holistic/organic services along with Medi spa treatments. Same location but seperated. Close to a resort area or near water was always my vision. Allowing all males and females to feel comfortably welcome & relaxed as soon as they enter with neutral and minimal decor.

I've been thinking about this a lot since Carrie posted it.  I really think that my work location is pretty close to my dream - it's a little jewelbox spa tucked away upstairs next to whole foods in an adorable trendy neighborhood.  I have filled it with plants and pretty curtains and good smells and wonderful products and sweet, calm people.  People are sometimes a little confused about finding it, but are always highly complimentary once they get up and into the spa.  I get a lot of comments like, "I would have never know this was up here," which is actually OK with me.  I sort of like being a secret destination.  New signage is in the works to make us stand out more, though, and attract more business, so we will see how that goes.

I love the fact that our clients can enjoy healthy food, yoga and pilates, beautiful home and clothing boutiques, and more within a block or so.  I like being part of a destination neighborhood.

Ideally the building owner would do a few big maintenance projects (gutters, etc.) that would improve the appearance of the exterior of the building.  Additionally, someday I would also love to have a stairlift to make our services more accessible to everyone.

The challenge right now is just that I am there WAY too much.  I'm working on that, but still trying to decide if I want to do certain types of business work outside of the physical location.  I have noticed that I appreciate the physical aspects of my business a lot more when I am there a little less.
