Insurance costs
Hi everyone! new to all of this. Recently licensed and I'm looking to rent a room. I went to the Assoc. of Skin Care Prof. website to look into their membership. I see that it's $259 annual membership fee...does that INCLUDE the insurance coverage? or is that fee in addition to additional insurance costs...?

Yes, that includes everything. $259 gets you the insurance coverage, magazine, discounts, hosted website and email address, and all the rest of it.

I wished they would split that cost up by month. I am looking at over $300 in fees with renewing my esthetician and massage license. Have no idea where I am going to come up with all that money.

I also had to pay about $500 for the new continuing ed requirements in my state!
Add in my insurance and licensing fees and ...Yikes!
Plus it all comes due in the same month.
At least ASCP/ABMP covers me for both massage and esthetics.

Michelle, if you are looking at joining or renewing with ABMP/ASCP and having trouble with the cost, please feel free to call and talk to one of our membership people rather than just doing an online signup, to see if they can give you any payment options that might work for you (although month-to-month isn't possible, sorry).
And, this might not be helpful for this year, depending on when your license renewal is due, but just for future info -- I know we do have a lot of members who like to pay their membership at a different time to when their license renewal happens, so it makes things easier financially and they're not up for both costs at the exact same time. Renewing a month or two earlier than the actual due date doesn't change anything about the membership term or the cost per year, but it just means that the following year you don't have to worry about it coming up at the same time as your other expenses.
