I have heard conflicting information on this: some say its not good to do chemical peels during the winter and others say the summer. My teacher wasn't very informative and I am not sure where to find this info. I see the pros and cons of both...Any thoughts or info??

I think it depends on the depth of the peel. What are you using?

Summer is the worst time for peels unless you have a client dedicated to using sun block.  The sun will cause hyper-pigmentation, for sure.  Don't use a Jessner in the summer.  Maybe just a light peel.

I do carry a titanium sun block that clients can add to their moisturizer of foundation.  It's super inexpensive....$5.00 wholesale.  You sell for $10.00.  Make your client commit to using a block and be sure to get a signed release when you do any peel.

@Mariga- I am using Bioelements Lactic Peel and theie Alphablend Maximun Exfoliant. I think they are both relatively light as I have never had any peeling and not much redness at all.

@Penny- Thank you, and I do have them sign consents with that on there as well in their post peel treatment form. I wish that eveyone would understand the gravity of the need for sunblock, especially with a peel of micro. Mesage me your product line. I am just starting up, just opened on Monday, but am always looking for new stuff to play with. Do you have any body treatments??

Here you go!

These products are excellent.  I use the Malic and AHA cleansers in my back bar along with the masks, serums and moisturizers.  The cleansers are really active.  I like to use the pumpkin mask with steam and finish up with the DMAE mud mask.  I tried the DMAE mask on myself and realized how active it is!  They all really work.

The prices compare with drugstores but are much more active in every way.  The FDA doesn't control pro products so, we can have more active ingredients and more vitamins than others.  The price point enables us to sell more because they're affordable.

I started using Image and like them, however, quickly discovered Tao is more affordable both for us and the consumer.  I know the owner and most importantly, she cares.  She is a Cidesco and knows skin care inside and out.  She doesn't see her prices going up in the near future which is great for us!

Let me know if you are interested.

One other thing.  The only body product in the line is an AHA body cream whick I use personally.  We are so dry in Colorado we need a lot of help.  This is a very smoothing and rich cream.

I wouldn't worry about any AHA/BHA peels as long as the client uses a sunblock. (As they should be going anyway, I know. Wish I could get 100% compliance on this).  Really, time of year shouldn't matter even with a deeper peel if the client is fully compliant with their aftercare, maybe it's just a little easier to get caught out in summer?
