Anyone who knows me, knows that I don't spend much time talking about bad things. I'd rather put my energy into the good....but some things just need to be shared so others don't find themselves in the same situation.

I purchased a piece of equipment from an esthetic company here in the U.S and I also purchased one for an Esty client fo mine. Both of ours broke down in the exact same way within a couple of months. So, obviously this a manufacturing problem. If we want to replace these pieces of equipment, we are responsible for the shipping back to the company.....not cool! I don't treat my clients that way, so I am paying for the shipping for mine as well as my Esty clients. I have been without my unit for 3 weeks now and her for a couple of weeks...also not cool!

I'm being vague about which company and what equipment because I really don't believe in flapping my lips about anyone, but there is a moral here.....before you purchase something, ask about their return policy, warranty and what the process is if something goes wrong with the machine and how long it will take to replace it, etc. If it's a heavy piece of equipment and you are responsible for return shipping, that could cost a pretty penny. Ask questions first!

I think that we often assume that a company will stand behind it's product.

I have been very fortunate that everything that I have purchased so far has performed as expected.

Some things end up being not worth shipping back for repair (and they often charge you again for sending back to you), and you end up having to purchase a new item all over again.

In the long run it can be less expensive overall and well worth the peace of mind to work with suppliers that have a customer friendly return and warranty policy.

You are soooo correct Cindy. Here's the thing though.....they all are so helpful and pleasant before we purchase, so if we don't ask the proper questions right then we can get a kick in the butt later on down the road! This is not something that happens often, thank goodness, but it really shouldn't happen at all. Gals, just do your homework before purchasing!!!

Hi Shelley,

I hear ya about the negetivity thing but that's what this forum is for.  I would hope so anyway.  I would just like to know the name of the company just so I don't make that mistake.  I'm pretty busy and I don't have time for stuff like that to happen.

Thanks,

Kandis

Hi Kandis,

Oh, I am really finding it hard to name names. I'm sorry. Please everyone just ask this question when purchasing from a company..."Who is responsible for return shipping if something goes wrong with the equipment within the warranty time period". This may be no big deal with a small piece of equipment, but if it's bigger and heavier, you could be out a pretty penny. Also, ask how long will it take to get a replacement. No equipment, no money coming in!

Well, I don't have a hard time naming names when they are in the wrong and I've had a similar bad experience, a while back with Spa de Soleil, the equipment division. I should have taken the red flags seriously when even before the purchase, as a potential customer I was treated poorly. Some mistakes are costly..in nerves and $$$$.
