LED and thyroid
My LED face mask came with a warning not to use on clients who have a thyroid condition. I looked this contraindication up on the internet where I found similar warnings. As this is not a full panel and does not reach down the neck, I am wondering about the consequence/reaction. As a huge percentage of middle aged woman are taking Synthroid, this certainly limits who I can use LED on. Any thoughts?

I hope this isn't true since I have a thyroid condition. I wonder if the led mask would be ok instead of using the panel

I too have thyroid condition (auto immune thyroiditis)... I can't imagine WHY it couldn't be used on thyroid patients?? I use it on myself.
I have seen where Estes were cautioned not to apply the hand held LED devices directly to the thyroid area, tho.
It's true, it seems like everyone and their mother is being treated for a thyroid condition these days, so again I can't imagine why LED would be contraindicated...

I use a handheld RevitaLight. Their explanation is that since it has been scientifically undetermined whether LED affects thyroid function, it is best to use a barrier (i.e., cotton or gauze pads) to cover the thyroid when applying LED in that direct area. If the LED mask is only covering the face, I wouldn't worry about it too much (the manufacturer is probably just trying to cover all their bases). If it makes you feel better, place a towel over the client's decollete when the LED mask is on their face.
