I'm going to offer a lip treatment for the holidays. I usually offer one that is a mask that helps with fine lines and wrinkles but I want to add a lip scrub to it and call it, Mistletoe Lip Treatment. Get those lips kissable! :) Anyway, is there anything I can use from home that will work with dry, chapped lips? Like a simple sugar scrub? I'd rather not go buy something specific if I don't have to. I know there are recipes all over the Internet but I want to know what you ladies are using and what works. Also, if you could tell me how you do it. The actual process. It seems odd to be scrubbing someone else's lips. :) I always add a special lip balm during the last mask but that's all I've done.
Thank you!

My fave recipe (product) of all time that works for soooooooo many things orally and physically is Manuka Honey. Mothers Market sell it.  It has to be Manuka...due to it's healing properties.  It is from NZ and is on the pricey end, but works wonders for EVERYTHING!

I use it mixed with cinnamon for a face mask for my teenage daughters acne....  ALL GONE!!

I also use it on dry skin (including my lips) mixed with sugar.  I rub using my ring finger onto wherever needs scrubbing and then remove.  It's edible of course too, because you can eat it.   If doing a lip mask on a client, just gently using your ring finger work around her lips using small, gentle circular movements with Manuka Honey and brown sugar mixed to a thick paste.  Voila....lips are juicy!! :)    Remove with a warm towel or warm cotton square and maybe package very small containers with the remainder in there for them to use at home.

Why brown sugar vs white sugar? Thanks

I bought something from salon centric called sugar lips...it was $20 for the little pot of sugar scrub but it's edible and it did last a long time.  I would put it on a cotton swab and use the cotton swab in small circular motions over their lips.

On another note, I saw in a magazine a recommendation for the satin smooth collagen lip mask, and almost bought them today and then opted not to.  Have you tried those?

Also, there is a really nice recipe for a cranberry lip gloss...maybe you could somehow incorporate this into a cranberry lip scrub and maybe add a drop or 2 of peppermint.

@Sheila....the Satin Smooth Collagen lip masks are good!  I got some samples when I was at a trade show and I like them.  :)     Hope you enjoy the recipe @Lucie

Fantastic ideas! I use the Environ algirnated  mask on to of the lips after  dermaplaning  or derma rolling, I also do microcurrents in the whole lips muscles area. I am going to try Claire Barnes' recipe.

Thanks ladies! I've seen that sugar lips stuff, Sheila and I should probably use that since it is only $20 but Claire has enticed me with that Manuka Honey! :) I had mentioned that I didn't want to spend money but I love new things and so I had to buy to see what it was about. Thanks a lot Claire (that was sarcasm... :) ).

I'm going to do some research on that stuff. I'm anxious to get it.

I have not tried the Satin Smooth lip masks. I use the ones from Le Mieux and I love them.
