Microdermabrasion VS Diamond peel

I know in the past this has been posted but no one comments on it. I've been and Esthetician for over 3 years now and I've worked at spa's and used the crystal machines but never the Diamond my concerns are the negtive reviews about crystals and I've notice alot of companys are switching over to organic grains, baking power or walnuts. Being that said I've reserched and those machines are not cheap yikes. I do have the derma files and ultra spatula hand held but was thinking of buying a micro machine currently i'm using my friends crystal micro so I don't know if I should buy it from her or buy a Diamond, Any help would be appreciated . I just sold my Radiancy FSD so i'm looking for a new toy.

As far as my microderm machine offers both settings, I personally like the crystal because the diamond tip is sometimes too aggressive, but it depends on the machine. I have great success with my crystal microderm and the way I shop for a machine is to go to the face and body show, I personally need to see and feel bascially try out before I buy the machine. It is very important to buy a good microderm, there are many aren't to the standard. Make sure it's made in u.s., which brand if your friends microderm and how much is she selling for?

Can I ask why you are selling your FSD? I have that machine as well.

I plan on going to the Las Vegas show in June. I go every year maybe I should wait until then to buy. I sold my FSD because I have a home spa and most of my clients don't want the treatment. And I have 80% Afican American Clients so it just wasn't benefiting my clientele. Also I have young clientele with acne problems that my wonderful skin care line that I use is working awsome on them. I wonder why more Estheticians don't Reply to this question I'm sure lots out there are using either the crystals or Diamond or maybe have some bad or good experience with this machines. Come on Girls and Guys any Opinions????

My 2 cents is that microdermabrasion is last years news. I have always been against crystal microderm due to the possible health hazards (aluminum oxide crystals being inadvertently shot in the eye or mucous membranes of the nose). As you all know, aluminum has been linked with heavy metal toxicity issues, including Dementia and Alzheimers. Aside from that, the crystal treatments are extremely drying to the skin (read "future wrinkles") and the penetration level of the crystals is impossible to manage on an even keel. The diamond tips are great when treating clients with acne scarring or any other scarred, uneven surface issues. To control the effects of the diamond tips, just turn your vacuum level up or down. The next generation of microderm is the liquid versions, as with the HydraFacial or the BT BioHydroDerm. The differences are night and day. Clients leave with the skin fresh, plumped and hydrated instead of red, stingy as if a "cat has licked your face". There is no down time involved, and makeup can be applied immediately after. If you are in the market for a new toy that will serve you well, I would look into this modality.
