Hello,

I have been an esthetician for 10 years and am ready to start a mobile day spa business. I live in Georgia and have noticed that there isn't anything like this anywhere near here. I would love any advice, tips or suggestions on the best way to go about doing this. I'm such a planner but have not had much luck materializing all the ideas i have so for for this venture.

Any advice??

This topic also interest me, as I would like to go into business for myself. Here's a link I found: http://mobilespabusiness.com/ Good Luck!

Hi, I own my business and work out of home, but have recently added Home Spa Parties through  local skincare product line in my area. I use their products in my treatment room and my clients love them.

I've only done a couple, but booking parties from each party.  The company is very generous and I'm now going to boutiques to sell the product and book home spa parties in addition to adding to my client base.

5 - 10 people

a small intimate setting

mini facials

basic skin care is discussed

each attendee will experience products for, cleansing, toner, masque, moisturizer

I end the session with lavender soaked washclothes, a hand massage while a relaxing tunes from my IPOD.

I'm really enjoying this new add to my business.

Be sure to check your local govenrment ordinaces for requirements.  They will vary by city, county and state.  For instance, if your business area encompasses multiple counties you may be subject to each of their regulations.  You may also need business permits for each of the locales you work in... be sure to check that out as well. :-)
1 - Make sure you have good insurance.
2 - create an image, logo, style etc.
3 - do a website, even if is a simple one
4 - enroll in yelp, facebook, Referral sites and alike
5 - get informed about regulations
6 - do a menu of services
7 - create forms to make parties EASY.
8 - look apart, even if it's just you have a uniform.
9 - do not name it "skin by yourname" or somethin like that.

Good luck!

Hello,  I have also been interested in the portable day spa idea.  I currently rent space at  a Massage & Day Spa but, have had requests to travel to homes to do facials.  Make sure you have equipment that is portable-bed which folds up & fits into a bag to carry, table top steamer, maybe a small crockpot for hot towels, travel size of skin care products all kept in a basket or a nice travel bag.  At first it will seem like alot of work until you have a regular routine of setting up.

WOW, NH won't let us do anything like this... in fact, the only reason you can even do an out  call is if the person in an invalid!

Thank you all for the suggestions. These are really helping to get me organized and it's definitely giving me a lot to think about.

I really appreciate it!
