whew, been a while since I've been on here! missed all the helpful knowledge and amazing professionals!
I've been wanting to, for quite some time now, start up my own mobile services. My passion lies in Makeup Artistry - which would work great with keeping mobile as a freelance makeup artist, but I also want to add other services that I am capable of doing and love as well.
Has anyone been doing mobile esthetic services? or lashes (extensions, perms, tinting)?
Any tips on how to get into the groove? feels like it could be a huge hassle but I want to so badly start up!
THANK YOU!

to be a moile spa you will need to get a mobile license from the state. so if i were you i would start there!
Do you mean mobile as in a mobile van/truck where you work from inside a vehicle ...... or mobile as in going into people's homes and working on them there? It will help for me to understand more from your question, so I could maybe offer you some help.
I was interested in this as well. Would love to get a mobile massage table and do facials and peels in people's homes. But I'm just not sure how feasable it would be to carry all the products and a towel warmer. I did see a great product at the Phila esthetics show, a small towel warmer that you put the towels in dry and the warmer moistens and warms them. It's pretty portable. Other than that, anyone have ideas on what to carry products in, along with bowls, brushes, dry towels, sheets, etc? Or if it's simply too much to be done. Thanks!
I do it but only for 3 regular clients....I go into their homes @jodi. I only started doing it because these clients at the spa I worked at needed me to come to them when i moved location and they didn't want to travel due to health reasons (princess reasons more like!! haaaha) I use one very large basket where i place all my tools, towels, brushes, portable high frequency, clarisonic, sheets etc in it. I carry this one large basket with most things in it. Inside my basket I have large metal bowls....inside the bowl i can squeeze product, such as new sponges etc......
Then I carry my portable massage table and portable steamer in separate. It can be very exhausting but they have been clients for years and years and pay me very, very well. if they didn't pay me as much or tip me as much I don't think I would find it worth my time to be honest. I do enjoy seeing them...but when they suggest to me that they might have a friend interested....I try to back out of it. I do use a portable towel steamer which is great and a few of my regulars have just recently said they will stock some of my equipment at their homes for me so I don't need to carry it around. I am contemplating their kind offer!!!
I agree with Claire that it can be more trouble than it is worth. I try to only do spray tanning as a mobile service; however, I have friends that live an hour from me so I created a mobile service. My friends were my guinea pigs in school & I posted my setup on another discussion thread about how I did my mobile facials. Here it is again (@ Jodi - I know the towel warmer you are referring to. It is actually not a good product. I would use a vegie steamer or a mini towel warmer instead):
