I opened up my business about a month ago, we had a grand opinion and the turn around was great in my opinion. I have been doing online social media, and we get about two walkings per week to the spa.

everyone that comes in here loves it.  However,  I feel I should be doing a lot more to bring in more people and grow faster. I want to make sure that I use my marketing money the best way possible.

Any suggestions on where should I put this money?  pr, social media, print ad, SEO…is so much and everything is so expensive. I would like to hear some success stories and what worked for you.

I refuse to do groupon or livingsicial!

Local networking groups have worked well for me so far.  :)  It helps to build trust/relationships with others.

I would check your website SEO.

I used to be in an out of the way location with no signage and we got more than 2 new clients a week.

People need to be able to find you.

And if they ARE finding you, why aren't they booking or coming in?

How is your spa being presented on your website and facebook page? A professional looking page with interesting content, pictures of the spa and/or staff, and ease of navigation are all helpful in gaining potential clientele.

Once you are confident of the BASICS, then put the money into other marketing...local print media, postcard mailings or FB ads. An easy no-cost marketing idea is just to visit the other local businesses to make sure that they know you are there.

Cindy...always love reading your words of wisdom!!

Direct mail...over and over again.  Takes 8 impressions to gain a customer. Advertising is expensive and is a long-term winner.

Social media is fine, but it is driven by having a large base to tell their friends and so on and so on and so on.
