Just wanting to get some thoughts on Nu Skin products, their galvanic spa and galvanic body spa? Is anyone currently using these products? Using the galvanic devices in their treatment room?

I use the galvanic at home and i do like it.  It is very effective.  But using the whole MLM thing (when i was working in a Spa doing hands on treatments) were not my thing.  I feel if you are going to use galvanic in the treatment room (which is amazing as part of a facial) you should use the galvanic machines that are made purposely for spa use.  Of course they are more expensive than the Nu Skin device...but longer lasting and better in my opinion.

Do you know what  difference is between-Galvanic and microcurrent?  I bought the Saian Microcurrent Machine.

I am not sur that I am getting great results.

Galvanic stimulation combines very short pulses (of constant intensity) and high peak voltage, yet low total current per second, for comfort and avoiding tissue damage while stimulating deep tissues. It is also an efficient way of exciting nerve fibers for repair etc.

Microcurrent Therapy uses extremely tiny electrical currents to help relieve pain and heal soft tissues of the body.  It is used for the relief of pain, because of its close proximity to our own body's current, and is thought to work on a more cellular level.  Hope that helps Mary.   Basically i think both methods are great (depending on what you are wanting to achieve).  Galvanic will produce quicker results than a Microcurrent (that doesn't mean it won't work ... will maybe take longer)

So basically Galvanic works at a higher current than a microcurrent.  Think 'micro'.

Although I am not an expert yet, we just recently studied this in class. What I took away is that we use galvanic current for deincrustation (negative current) and iontonphoresis (postive or negative depending on alkalinity of product) to force products into the skin. Like serums and such.

Microcurrent is a lower level of electricty, but it mimicks the way our brain communicates with muscles. The idea is that stimulating the muscles of the face heals and repairs muscle tissue to influence cellular activity. Therefore, by stimulating and "confusing" the muscle tissue of the face, you get a slight lifting which is my microcurrent is considered by some to be the anti-surgery facelift.

So, galvanic is more for doing things to the pores of the face while microcurrent is dealing with muscles.

I think that these "at home" devices do work.

I see NO reason to use them in the treatment room when I already have professional equipment though.

And ditto what Claire said...

@Mary - the Saian device looks like the NuSkin (or another one of those at home devices), so I am not sure that you will get fantastic results. It takes awhile to see results though - what are they recommending for use? 3 times/wk??

I would guess that it would take 3-4 wks. Did you take before pics?

I checked into Nu Skin a few years ago and an esty friend who had previous experience, as an at home product, said that it worked great, but was expensive if you used the products they sell with it.  Don't know if that helps.
