For the life of me, I cannot master the hard wax flick and pull. I have tried everything, including using a small piece of pelon as a base so I have something to "flick" - and I cannot master a bikini or brazillian. These are hot services in my area, and I cannot develop the skill to offer them. However, a fellow esthi in my area told me that Nufree Wax can be used effectively for brazillians and bikinis - she said it's all she uses and it's a strip wax. Anyone have advice about this?

Make sure you leave your edge that you are 'flicking" thicker than the rest...use this as your guideline so you know which end to pull from and also so it is thicker for you to grab.    As for the Nufree (I am a waxing educator) and this wax is the next on my list to try and then to use during my classes ( I like to use several different kinds of waxes) but I have heard great things about this wax.  It is more expensive, I believe but is a soft wax that works like a hard wax.   Sounds juicy to me!!!  :)

Thank you for writing, Claire! This is what I was told as well (soft wax that works like a hard wax). And this sounds like something made for me! I seriously cannot master the hard waxes no matter what. I watch video after video and apply that knowledge in treatment room... Fail. I think I'm going to try Nufree, but you should let me know if you do too! And knowing you're a wax educator, I may be asking you questions more often. :)

I did notice on another discussion that people were saying you have to (or it is preferable) to use their wax heater.  Not sure If I like that gimmick in all honesty!  I have 3 double wax heaters and don't feel I could squeeze another one on my table...so I might put off trying it for a while.   I am going to the Miami Tradeshow next week...I will see if they have a booth and try out the wax when I am there.   If I sample it there, I will let you know.

If you are doing hard wax its not so much a flick. Thicker at the pulling end. And imagine you a using your fingernail to pick or scrape a paint chip off of a wall that is annoying you. Sounds weird but flick just doesnt describe it. Braz are my specialty.
