I am considering trying Yelp's 12 months of paid advertising and would love to hear thoughts/experiences/advice as I have always been a little skeptical about the merits of "Sponsored Posts" and "Paid Advertising" etc...

I detest YELP.

This spot may be dated, but the issues still exist and have only gotten worse.

This is our former regional manager who went to work with her husband on their gelato business

I know that I naturally tend to skip "paid" or "sponsored posts" when I am researching businesses which is why I was skeptical.

I was just curious because at present I get about 3-5 new clients a month from Yelp (free business page listing) and was starting to think that this could perhaps dramatically increase if I paid for advertising.

I am still on the fence (leaning towards not doing it) and was just hoping that feedback from fellow estie's would help me reach an informed decision.

Thanks for the reply....much appreciated :)

I did YELP paid ads after they pursued me for a year... I was tired of them calling and asking so I figured why not try.... Now I NEVER hear from them... like at all... even though they said they would make followup calls. Not even to make sure I am satisfied with the progress. It also has not made a major change in the YELP business I was getting before I signed up. I am counting down the months to when my YELP advertising is over. I feel like I can use the money for some other form of advertising in my area... It may be different for you though. It just was not worth the money for me... good luck!

I'm done paying for any advertisement! I'm going to network.

I do not think that is where your money is best spent. My advise would be to do google ads. You can set your daily pricing and can track your progress. Works really well for me.
