Kristen, I find many circumstances where it is benefical to add on chemical exfoliation to a facial. I offer my acids as either add on or stand alone treatments. I charge based on acid stregnth/layers applied. $10 add on for level 1 acids to a facial, $20 for level 2 acids. Level 3 acids\deeper chemical exfoliation I typically only offer as a treatment on their own.
Hnestly, the only time I have folks getting an exfoliation service onit's own without a facial is when doing a series or more aggressive program where I have them coming in often. I prefer to combine milder peels with a facial.
Does that help ?
So much of this is circumstancial.....It's going to depend on what type of acids you use, how comfortable you are with them, the clients skin and if you have used chemical exfoliation on them in the past.....the only hard and fast rule I stick to is extractions happen after chemical exfoliation and not before. My general suggestion would be to replace the enzyme step with your peeling agent (minus steam in most cases). That being said, sometimes it is benefical to use an enzyme as a peel prep. So much depends on the stregnth of the acid used and the skins response to it. Sometimes it is helpful to do light facial massage post peel followed by extractions and masque, sometimes you willwant to eliminate all additional stimulation to the face and just do neck/shouldermassage minus steam followed by a calming masque.
What brand/type of acids do you use? The company should have lots of information annd suggested protocols for you.
Sorry for all the typos, the keyboard on my tablet is acting up ;)
Greetings Kristen,
Our professional accounts charge an add on charge of $15 while as an individual service charging $40 in a series :) This is done in place of exfoliation with or without steam still staying within the recommended 1-3 minutes with light extractions following.
Best of Luck
Awesome :)
