Penetration to the subcutaneous layer

Hi all,

A neighbor of mine sells Protandium (made by Life Vantage corp) and their skincare product (1) is called True Science.  She says it penetrates to the subcutaneous layer where the bottom of wrinkles exist.  I don't recall hearing in school that products can penetrate this far down.  Was I sleeping? Is this correct? Comments please.

If it penetrates down to the dermal layer then it sounds like a line that a dermatologist or plastic surgeon should be using. Anything that penetrates that far down is out of our scope of practice. Be careful and make sure she isnt giving you misinformation.

Attached is a drawing of the skin I drew to show exactly what you are talking about.  I hope it helps. There is a lot going on in this diagram but look to the top right hand corner and to the right side of page and it will tell you exactly what depth does what.  I can send you a PDF if you email me.

1. Waxing

2. Basic Facials

3. Chemical Peels

If she said this, show her the picture I posted and I am 100% sure you will see someone who suddenly becomes very silent and admits that she has never seen a diagram like that nor did she even know that there were that many layers of the skin besides the two or three she was taught in school.  I am kidding and making a joke, sort of, but what she told you is completely wrong and I hope my diagram shows you.
