Hi! I am debating on whether or not to go to the ICES show in October. It seems that all the classes and workshops are at the same time. I would be traveling there and I want to get the most for my money since I'll need a plane ticket and hotel fare. Any advice or suggestions as to if this will be truly beneficial for me? Thanks!
I go to this show because it's the closest one to me.
You might want to rethink if you have to pay for air and hotel though and save it for one of the bigger shows like in Las Vegas, NY, Calif, or Florida.
I know what you are saying about the classes. I always have to choose and plan carefully and always end up missing something.
One thing I wanted to mention: if you do end up going, ASCP members get 30% off the entry fee. And don't forget to use all your ASCP member discounts for hotels, rental cars, and anything else you might need!
I went to the Dallas ICES show last May and I split to cost of drive, spent the night with friends family, so it was worth it. I would not have been able to justify the cost for a plane ticket and hotel. In my case, I went srtickly to see the Wax Queen's two classes. I did sit in on a couple of things in the general sessions room and did do some shopping, but even that was time consumming the vendors were so busy. I'd suggest really studying the brochure, seeing what you can actually attend, (in Dallas they were all at the same times) and figure out the vendors you want to talk to, and then see if you think it is still worthwhile.
