Hi all!  I never thought I would be in this prediciment, but I have 3 current job offers on the table, and possibly one more coming in the next day or so.  Since I'm only looking for part time, I think this is why all these doors suddenly opened for me.  I left my FT job at Ulta for a part time job in a different field, and I'm looking for a PT skin care job.  My question to you is how do you choose where to work?  I have made a chart listing the pros and  cons of each place, but I'm still torn and afraid of making the wrong decision.  The basic breakdown (I'm only listing 3 I'm considering, 1 I have ruled out) is as follows:

Scenario 1 = 50% commission + tips, free hair care.  Only 1 facial room and a full time esthetician, so would only be able to schedule around her. They do have a microdermabrasion machine, which I've always wanted to learn.

Scenario 2 = a VERY well known salon in my area, with a huge community presence, 47.5% commission, but it's a no tipping salon, so I feel I could lose 10-20% right off the top there.  The good part is the advertising, traffic and they have 2 rooms, so I could have my own room and schedule when it worked for me.  40% discount on hair services.

Scenario 3 = a medical spa, so no hair services at all, but they do LED therapy, medical grade peels, and they are looking into IPL, all things I really want to learn.  They have 2 rooms and 1 esthetician as of now, so I could schedule when it worked for me. 40% commission to start, but they do accept tips.

I think what I'm torn about is I really want to learn the medical grade stuff, but I'm afraid I won't build as fast there as I would in either of the much busier hair salons.  Any thoughts/advice from seasoned pros would be much appreciated!

I have a solid offer from 1 and 3.  2nd interview with 2 scheduled for Thurs am.

HELP!

Wow good for you! I'm not a seasoned pro but I think you have to decide in which direction you want to take your career. If you are interested in the more medical/clinical stuff, go with #3 so you can learn those techniques...if that's not your priority then wait and see if you get an offer from #2...I think having your own room and good reputation of the salon would make up for the lack of tips and slightly lower commission.
I'm curious.... what did you end up doing?
I choose option 3.  I really like the spa atmosphere and want to learn the medical grade peels and such.  The hair salon atmosphere is really not where I want to be right now.   Thanks!
