Hi everyone, I’m in the process of completing my menu of services, but I’m at a standstill when it comes to professional men skincare products. Please share your products, protocols, suggestions, etc. Thanks again!

Lugenia, I have used Dermalogica for years as a man and now entering into the profession as an esthetician. To me, the scent and look of their products is maculine, plus, they have some great customized facial treatments using the Shave line. I am also liking Nu Skin. My partner and I have been trying out their products for the last couple of months and I have some guy friends also using them. So far we are all very pleased.

Hi John, thanks for sharing this information. I also like Dermalogica, but I’ll need to check if I am able to purchase “just” their men’s line for professional usage. In your opinion, is it safe for sensitive skin?

Thanks again!

Lugenia, it should be safe for all skin types. I tend to have sensatized skin and don't have any issues. I use a blend of the gray line, ultracalming and shave line. Plus, some Nu Skin products. There are not any "Shave" products just for professional use, it's all retail. I wish Derm would create a backbar for their "Shave" line. I have had facials where the esthetician replaced some of the normal backbar with a couple shave line products. Which of course, led to me buying them!

Lol!

I will check into it & thanks again John!

Not a protocol or anything but I will say my boyfriend LOVES his clarisonic.  haha.  He was getting really bad ingrown hairs and it has helped a ton with him using it daily.  Could be something to suggest for men and they do have a few masculine colors.

As far as cleansers and things like that, he lives stuff that is kinda menthol or tingly (or salicylic type stuff), right now he is using my glo puryfying gel cleanser.  He definitely won't do too much as far as at home and doesn't like anything that makes him feel oily or greasy so if you are doing massage, maybe use something other than an oil.

I think guys are mostly into the massage part so maybe you could do a basic cleanse, exfoliate type facial but maybe extended face and shoulder massage and maybe rather than doing a mask and letting that sit, you could massage a mask in.  Just a thought.  I have a relax blend of essential oils that he likes, nothing too floral, but lavender is ok.

Please share with us what you end up doing.

Hi Shelia thanks for sharing! I totally can see the importance of massage and scents, and if I understand you correctly, the product doesn’t really matter. Is this correct?

Thanks!

Not that it doesn't matter but from my experience the guys are coming in more for the relaxation I think or to clear up a skin condition.  PCA has a mens line and I had gotten the sample for my boyfriend and he didn't care for it.  I am not sure if he just didn't like the product or if he just didn't like the idea of having to really worry about product.  I would definitely focus on exfoliation/ingrown hairs, I would say that's one of the top skin conditions they would come in for.  Glotherapeutics makes a after waxing spray called Ingrown X-It and I will say that I got it for my boyfriend and he does spray that on after shaving and it seems to help with the ingrown hairs.

Sorry Sheila, I was typing fast and running out of the door when I replied, and I didn't mean that product isn't important...but thanks for understanding and for providing great information.

Rhonda Allison has a nice Mens line called RAW.  I use the womens line and love it.

Hi Rhonda, I will look into this product. Thanks so much!

Lugenia

Rhonda - thanks for sharing this line. I have never heard of it. Just from spending a few minutes on the site, it all looks great. Loving the looks of their men's line as well. Do you have a rep? I put in my zip code, but there isn't anyone in my state or even near me that offers this product line. Was hoping to get some samples and more information about the line. Is it all just retail or do they have a seperate professional back bar? I am guessing all the peels are professional grade.

Great minds think alike, I was thinking the same thing. I've used the Rhonda Allison line on men before and they liked it.
