Hi Everyone,

I have a question regarding the use of essential oils. I first dilute my oils in a bowl filled with warm water, then I soak each towel individually, wring out excess and pop them into my hot towel cabbie. However it's been brought to my attention, that, that could potentially cause a fire? Has anyone heard of this, and if so what do you do to make essential oil filled towels? I look forward to hearing some suggestions. Thank you!

Ashley...I've not heard this before, but I'm sure it could be possible.

Here's what I do: I use a hot bowl of water, drop in a few drops of Lavender essential oil (or whatever your preference) and I soak four 4x4's folded into quarters while I do extractions. Once I apply the mask I use two of the 4x4's to cover the face, one stretched out on the upper face and the other stretched out on the bottom below the nose. I do a scalp or arm massage then use the other 2 4x4's to remove the mask.

Hope this helps! :)

I always just do a few drops on the end of one or two towels.  The heat disperses the scent without fully soaking each towel in EO water.  I find this to be super cost effective and easy.

Hello:  I am not the expert in essential oils, however, I do know that there are oils that can be used this way and others that should not.  I would ask the person you are buying the oils from to distinguish the difference.  I use them with my towels all the time in the hot towel caddy and when I open it up the aroma is a wonderful experience.
