Hi Deborah......Unfortunately Radiancy does make the NoNo, but they also make fabulous medical and esthetic equipment. Please don't be lured into the very inexpensive FSD units on EBay. I've had two estys purchase one and then call me to say that it's not the same thing once they got it. Companies can get ahold of the molds for the outside of the machines, but do not know how to make the inner workings. There are knock offs for just about every piece of equipment. :-(
I purchased my Radiancy machine 4 years ago and it is still the most asked for treatment at my Center. I still love it. That's say a lot because after four years we are typically bored! :-)
There is a Vegas Show special going on right now and I would be more than happy to extend it to anyone interested. I leave bright and early Thursday for Vegas so please contact me before then. Happy Sunday everyone!
Hi Jody..here's the link to the Radiancy info: http://www.shelleyhancock.com/radiancylhe.html
There are a few things to consider before choosing a piece of equipment. First one is the budget that doesn't stress you out! Then what age group are your clientele and what skin issues are you most working with.
I actully purchased the Lamprobe many years ago and it just wasn't my thing. Also, it's a no no here in California. Skincare Fundamentals makes a good quality unit for around $2000. You may wnat to check it out.
The Dermafiles are awesome! Great for exfoliation without the possibilty of breaking capillaries which could happen with the suction from regular microderm. They are normally $199 (for a set of three) but I have them on sale on my website for $169 (free shipping) for the Vegas Show Special! I'm here in Vegas now....the first day starts in a few hours. We set my booth up yesterday and I'm super excited.
Hi Jody....I feel like those are three of the harder conditions for us to work with. I have found that the Radiancy FSD really helps the broken capillaries with the light and heat energy. Lisa from Skin Script makes a serum that really works well to disipate milia. There is an explanation about milia and the use of her serum on the "specialty products" page of my website. I can't be much help with the sebaceous cyst condition. :-( Anyone else have some words of wisdom for us on this issue?
Hi Shelly, since you're on the subject, I want to ask you how much you would run the treatment for? Can it be an add -on also? And finally, do you think somebody starting their business, like me, would benefit from purchasing right away? I have been in the business for 10 years working at the same place, but I am going to open my studio in the next few months. I think alot of my clientele would follow me, but honestly I don't want to be working at the spa and telling people to follow me, it is just not right. I know eventually most will find me, but at the beginning I would be just like a new business. Thanks!
I would keep this as a trreatment, seperate from your facials. You do not want to do steam and the FSD together....too much heat. In the SF Bay Area, Estys are getting anywhere from $75 to $125. I ran a $50 special when I got the FSD four years ago. I had 15 people sign up for that deal and at the end of 5 days I had $6700!!! Thirteen of them purchased a series!! Now we charge $125 for a single treatment and $800 for the series.
My opinion is that if you want to stand out from other Spas down the street, come out of the gate (so to speak!) with something new and unusual.... like the FSD.
I just hired a wonderful Esty that had been working at the same Spa for 14 years. She was ready for a change because they only did European facials. She is very ethical and during her last two weeks there, when people would ask her where she was going, she would look them in the eye and say "You are asking me, correct. I am not soliciting you". They have all followed her like a herd. We create bonds with these people, this is a very personal business we are in...they want to stick with us.
Congrats on opening up your own Studio...you will be so happy that you did!! It is very rewarding in so many ways. Please feel free to contact me if you need any support along the way....I've been there, done that 25 years ago.
Thank you, Shelly for the advice. I will be calling you very soon!
