While conducting my evening esthetician research, I came across a skincare and skincare tip website from celebrity esthi Renee Rouleau. Has anyone ever tried her products and if so, what do you think? I'm a little interested. I've been using Image Skincare, but I am having a horrible time with their customer service (double billings, costly shipping and extended arrival time, and just overall unprofessionalism). I'm looking to build a new line into my practice and have thought about using Skin Script, although every time I use one of their masques, my clients turn really red and tell me they feel like they are on fire. I want an effective line as Image was, but am not finding anything. HELP!

I haven't heard of Renee Rouleau- but have you checked out Rhonda Allison? I am about to bring her line on. The ingredient decks are amazing, she has a TON of peels and an inteesting peel layering technique, and the website has tons of free training videos. They host a webinar every other Monday. You can register on their website even if you don't carry the line yet and watch all the videos and stuff. I'm really excited about this line :)

There is an initial investment though, if that matters. I believe it is from $1500-$2500-$3500. If you do the higher initial investment you get a bunch of free training stuff, marketing materials and testers and displays with products.

Thanks Andrea. I haven't really looked into that one, and I should have said, I need to find a line that doesn't have a minimum order amount. They are out there...

I'm looking for a better peels too. I feel that Image peels do not do a whole lot.

Myself and Renee are connected on Twitter and we speak occasionally behind the scenes. I have heard nothing but good things about her products and she seems very professional with a good branding behind her name.   I would def give it a try. I have heard her Berry facial mask is to die for.  I don't use her products as i am a waxer and don't do facials....but when my Jan Marini (Which is another FANTASTIC product) that I use on myself is all gone, i will start trying her stuff.    So in the meantime as mentioned just before..... Jan Marini is very good.

ooooh I forgot about another line that is great and there is no minimum order and they also help  you with marketing materials i believe.  "Osmosis"

Well, THIS is intriguing, since I've used R Allison for probably 12+ yrs, along with Sothys & some HydroPeptide (love HP's sunscreen BTW, since I saw you'd asked about SPFs at another thread) Soon going into a rental situation in a huge busy hair salon & was coming seriously close to switching to Image because the simplicity and mkting appealed to me, as R A is a huge line w/ tons of individual products & that can seem complicated to a client, so many items to 'layer'--which I must say means it allows for customization, if you can carry alot of different items. Alot to learn w/RA, but good quality I like & latest science of ingred.  Sara, I've felt frustration by no service interest from the local Image Rep here, though service from headqrters fine. Before I got Intro packet/samples,I'd asked to attend a local training to learn what treatmts were like, how their system was set up, see the products, etc. but was informed by Rep I'd have to pay $250 to attend. Once I place the 'Bronze' or 'Gold' collection/order, only then can I go to local training, and I had the feeling it would only be a single visit!  Other companies bend over backwards to interest me in their product and are so helpful, but not this rep. When I've called, she says she 'has a few minutes' while she's driving to someplace, implying I need to ask question quickly since she doesn't have time, as if I'm bothering her. I was first interested in July, this is Oct, I've been trying to educated myself on the line simply with the packet and she's told me when ready to order, THEN she can help me, to"put together the order" items I want to get. Can't believe I'm reading this complaint from you. Also recently studying Visual Changes, and doing Webinars from both companies, which helps alot.

Hi Gloria,

First off, you mentioned Hydropeptide. I first contacted them last January for some samples, and I loved everything. But again, went off into Image-land. I would have to look through my emails to see if they require a minimum order.

I just feel frustrated with a few things - one, that Image goes through reps in my state like laborador retriever puppies go through dog shelters ... fast (because they're so cute). But it's true. I had become friends with the last rep, and she wasn't treated so well and has since gone on to other things. So right now, there is no one to contact. And when you are telling me how companies are going over backwards for you to try their products... what?? Not one single company has done that for me. And you'd think they would want to. The bronze and gold orders you mentioned? So expensive but to think of what I've already given that company (in terms of my own money), I have probably given them a few bronze orders-worth already. And I mentioned their peels aren't very effective. I'm looking for a line I can believe in again. Where I feel totally confident that the take home products are going go work, that the peels really do provide results, that the facials speak for themselves just from the products used, etc. I've done all the webinars and any training that Image has offered - I feel that there is nothing new to learn. No new material, anywhere I look!

Hi Gloria,

I'd love to know more about how your experience with Rhonda Allison has been. I've been looking for a more advanced skincare line to work with and was really impressed with the ingredients and the training videos online.  I'm about to place my first trial order, and would love to know what some of your favorite retail and backbar items are! I don't want to hijack this thread, but if you would PM me I'd love to hear your impressions.

This is a great conversation. I looked up Renee Rouleau and Image (had heard of them but not used them). Does Renee actually make a professional product line? I didn't see any information on her website about that.

One thing that struck me about Image was that they did not list the form of the antioxidants in their skin care products. They listed very specifically the types of peptides, etc, but the antioxs. just said "Vit c, e, etc....instead of l-ascorbic acid, etc..are they chirally correct?

So I've been using Dermalogica (A costly line to bring on- and perhaps not so effective), and Glo Theraputics. Have you looked at Glo? They have no minimum order, and I have seen good results with some of their peels (which range from several enzymes to Jessner and TCA). The retail line is pretty extensive, and their peptide serum is killer. I have several clients who have had dramatic improvement with it.

I have been to several of Glo's training events, and they are always good, with lots of information on ingredients. They are also always coming out with new things, which I like. They launched a line using plant stem cells last year. In my experience, product line reps are always coming and going (Dermalogicas have been lasting an average of a year in my area), but the Glo reps have always been helpful, and I prefer to deal with them than the customer service.

I've heard geat things about Osmosis, which is a chirally correct line. Didn't realize there was no minimum order with them.

Yes, Image ingred are very impressive level of technology. Vit C is L-Ascorb Acid, + 2or3or4 (depending on product) additional newer types which out-perform that standard form, are more stable, oil-soluble for better bioavailability.  At least 3 types stem cells. Max line has10 potent peptides. Ingred are top-notch. In fact, outstanding results is what I was most looking forward to. Has anyone else besides Sara had service problems or dissatisfaction w/fees, sample program, feel of specific home-care prod etc? Sara, why are you not satisfied with the results of the peels? Are you doing a series of 5-6 to get the result you are looking for?

I like Image, a lot, but I guess after reading a lot about PCA and the effectiveness of the peels, I wanted to try something different. As far as the customer service, I have had quite a few problems in the past and know of other esthis near me that have too. Sometimes I wish they would send along samples for all that money I've spent ordering, but oh well. Thanks for pointing out the anti-oxidants Gloria. It's helpful to see that, and I find that Image products really do work. It would be nice not having to deal with CS directly with Image and instead have a rep to work through for education, etc.

Thanks Andrea - and I didn't see anything about professional products with Renee... which is why I held off on even ordering anything. I have looked at Glo and used the products for about 2 months working with a spa. We didn't have access to a lot of products, only a few. So, the peptide serum is something I should check out then? I have always heard that Glo training is great (do they require payment to go to training?). I love Glo's makeup line.

Look at Botanical Science, it's a private label company and it's where Renee Rouleau gets her products. You can work directly with Botanical Science and put your own branding on the products :)
