I have a client with the most severe Rosacea I have ever encountered.  Major edema, flaming

red covering most of the face.  Has been on steroids, 3 different antibiotics and Metrogel.

Does anyone have advice that I could pass on to her?  It is so impacting her social and work

life!!  I might add she has been to several doctors with very little encouragement from them.

Thank you!!

There are limits on what steroids and topical treatments can do for Rosacea.   I would recommend she start with an IPL treatment.  Typically, we would start at a lower setting for 1st time treatments, then work up the joule setting.   There are derms who provide the service or medical spa, depending on your state laws.  She should find a provider with a Lumenis M22, Syneron Elos+, or Sciton Joule.  These are the latest generation machines.   If a couple of treatments don't do much improvement, there are some other options.   The Candela VBeam Perfecta is a sublative pulsed-dye laser and can do even more than the standard IPL machine.

George,

Can't thank you enough for your suggestions!  She was scheduled for the VBeam and then had second thoughts

because her condition is so severe the whole face is hot and bright red.  The vessels are not really visible.  But the

IPL is a a good option.  It calms down for a day or two and then flares again.

So nice of you to take the time to offer your advise!!  Thank you, thank you!!

What skin care line is she using? There is a line called Hale and Hush that was created for they hypersensitive client, might be a good line to look at.  It uses organic and sustainable ingredients, and it's chirally correct.

Thank you Tiffany,  She is on very good skin care and is very compliant.  Thanks for your input, appreciate it!!

This may have something to do with her diet.  She may want to go the holistic route.

Hope she is better soon!
