I thought it would be exciting to share some recipes that we use in our treatment rooms. What do you use, how is it applied and what is the primary use for it? Also, do any of you market these recipes for seasonal promotions? I am eager to try out some new ones and revisit some old ones!

Wow Tamara! That sounds fantastic! I like the idea of displaying the items for personalization. Where have you found these masks?
Wonderful idea Tamara!

I make and sell, Lip Balms, All Natural cold process soaps and Lotion Bars, My clients love it. After I wax their

legs I take the cocoa butter lotion bars and rub into their legs and it just melts into their skin.  They always end up buying them. If anyone wants recipes just let me know.

HI Jackie,

I am just starting out as an esthetician.  I would love to know the recipe for the cocoa butter lotion bars.  I am practicing techniques on my daughters and the idea of the homemade aspect of products.

Thank you

I wanted to know does anyone have a recipe for making Face paints for children that is all natural, I am an esthetician and make-up artist so looking for some thing natural for children.

Any ideas.

A couple of years ago, a massage therapist and I were having a very slow day.  I came across an article in cosmo that was a suggestion to temporarily help for the appearance of cellulite before going out.  Bored as we were, we tried it.  I'll be darned if it didn't work!!!  It takes brewed coffee grounds mix and mix in with a basic mud mask.  You apply to the affected areas and let sit for 15-20 minutes.  Because I am a cynic.... We only did one of my legs.  At first, my leg looked odd.... I was oddly dimpled... then amazingly, it smoothed out right before our eyes.  When I put my pants back on, there was a VISIBLE difference!!!  We had to do the other leg of course!!!  Then we did hers!!

NOTE....  This is definitely messy... The coffee grounds did get all over the place despite our best efforts!!!

I love cocoa butter! I thought about trying to make my own soaps but just don't have time. I would be interested in hearing how you make your's :)

Since I am a new grad I don't have a treatment room yet :)  I do have the Spa Pantry Treatment Rituals Cookbook from Universal Companies though and I love it.  It has recipes and protocols for the entire body and also gives you a CD of spa images to use in your marketing.
Sure, It's really easy. I think sometimes it's more of a hassel getting everything out and cleaning it, etc. Lotion bars are the best, easy sellers and your clients will fall in love with them. I will get my recipe and let ya know.

I have recently added a mask bar. I have purchased several types of dry powder masks in bulk.  White Clay, French Green Clay, Morrocan Rhassoul, Rose Clay, Fullers Earth, and more.  I have also formulated a few of my own combining the clays with oatmeal powder, green tea powder, honey, milk powder and even chocolate poweder!.  I found some wonderful clear acrylic containers at World Market that came with scoops.  They display the powdered masks nicely.  When it comes time to choose a mask for a particular skin type I will either mix it with my skin care lines additives, toners, or distilled water. Maybe drop or two of your favorite serum too!
Hi jackie, what about the recipe? we are all drooling here.....
