Skin Care Treatment for Down Syndrome

I’m a volunteer in an upcoming fundraising event for the special needs. I would like to create an information cards on different kinds of skin care treatments any though?

I would like know what would be the best skin care treatment for a person with special needs?

I been doing my research if I can give them something simple on "How to take care of their skin"

It's just hard to answer that, because there isn't just one way to care for skin. Also, if there are any underlying conditions, basic skin care may not be effective, or may be too aggressive. Sensitive skin or excessive edema might necessitate a much gentler routine, for example. The only universal rule of thumb is to keep it simple, hydrate, and moisturize to protect the barrier of the skin.

I had a Down Syndrome student once, way back, when I was a music teacher. She was a dear little girl. My understanding is that Down Syndrome people can have a VERY wide range of severity of how much they are affected by it, so you could be dealing with anyone from people who need to be talked to at a child's level of understanding, to others who are pretty much exactly the same as anyone else but are maybe just on the slower end of normal.

There is so much diversity among this group of people that I would honestly just recommend you consider their skin care needs the same way you'd consider anybody's. Take the same approach as if you were volunteering at a health fair for the general public, but when you make the information cards, make sure they're worded in short, easy to understand language, to allow for a variety of different reading/understanding levels. I don't mean make the wording or design seem childish, but make them something that's clear enough for even a child to understand, and then it'll suit every possible client. This is really a good practice to follow with any clients when you think about it.
