Hello my fellow Lovley Esties!!
I am looking to by a woods lamp and there are many different ones out there. Trying to decide which type/style are the GOOD ones. Some have black cape looking things attached, some don't. Anyone have any feedback for me before I make my purchase. Please and thank you! :)

I found mine on Ebay for $25, and it does the trick. I haven't had much experience with actually utilizing a woods lamp, aside from identifying oily areas and letting people know how much sun damage they've accumulated, but my cheapo lamp works perfectly for doing just that :)

A woods lamp is pretty basic technology, you can get away with a less expensive starter lamp. The key is the brightness of the lamp, quality of the magnifier and the price. There is a lot of diagnostic equipment out there, a lot of it looks cool but you may never use it. Its really important that you understand the basics of skin analysis and what to look for before you spend a lot of money on technology. No matter what manufacturers say, there is no perfect algorithm that has been created to analyze skin like we do. I have a ebay woods which works fine and a $1000 + skin scope that was a huge benefit for retail sales. Good luck and email me if you have any specific equipment you want me to look at.

Thank you ladies for both of your responses. I'm just not recently getting back into it & I am a one woman show. Which pieces of equipment do you feel are absolutely necessary when running a private skin care practice?
