Hi Everybody~ I am currently in school for my esthetician license. I took a year long program, graduation pending 12/2012.

I am wondering what the rules are for practicing in a commercial space. I have access to a room in a commercial business, but I know there are laws and licenses about who can an can not touch people...I am also trained in energetic medicine, balancing energies for people, have a bachelors degree in physical therapy, and I read palms, so I do a lot of consulting with lifestyle, diet & exercise. This would be very casual and slow to set up.

Is it ok for me to "practice" this stuff, free of charge? I dont have any machines or sharp tools. I will get whatever I need to be in line with the states sanitation standards and practices. I live in Washington State. Please let me know what I can do. I love this line of work. Cant wait to get started. There is massage therapist and an osteopath in the bldg. I really want to follow rules and not allow any room for concerns from them as far as me still being a student. Hope someone can answer this! Thank you.

I would contact your state board and ask them to be on the safe side.  Good luck!
