I have a small skincare business, just myself. I am looking for some great ideas to promote my business for the summer months. I want to offer some enticing specials to my clients... does anyone have any creative ideas?

Isabel - you must not be an esthetician!

If my product costs were 50% of my treatment price I would be out of business!

I'm thinking the same!

Hi Amanda,

I just read a short article in the May 2012 Skin Inc. magazine by Kelly Richardson titled, "Prepare Your Spa for Summer Selling." She had a couple of great suggestions including putting together affordable packages for clients to become "beach-ready." She gave the example of a package that would include waxing, sunless-tanning, and a repairing facial. The first two services would be pre-vacation; the third would be offered post-vacation, which automatically creates a second visit for the client, increasing the possibility of retention.

She also suggested "summer-izing" your retail area to make sure you have fun, bright colored sunglasses, swimwear, flip flops, sunscreen (of course), lip glosses with SPF, and cover-ups. You can continue the summertime theme by decorating your retail area and treatment room with shells, sand, flowers and other summertime objects. Hope you have fun incorporating all the other great ideas, too!
