I would love some guidance from my fellow Skin Care Professionals. I have recently graduated an obtained my esthetics license. Even though my esthetics experience is very green, I do have an extensive background in sales and have been very successful. I am currently going through the interview process to represent a reputable, well known skin care line as a Territory Educator and assist in the face to face sales closing process. Can anyone offer their advice as far as where you may think the salary of this position should be. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!

As far as Salary goes, you can't be afraid to NEGOTIATE your value to the company. If you are great in sales and you are going to bring them a lot of business, you need to establish that up front. You have to remember, the company wants you to make them money. They don't care if you make money. Set the terms in your contract. I have met some people at trade shows who make an amazing income. However, they had to fight for it. Others, just get paid in product with a small percentage of the sales.  So they have to work a second or third job.

Good luck!!!

Thanks for the words of wisdom and encouragement. I really appreciate your response.

You are welcome! I have met Sales/Educators who pull in $65,000 to $100,000 a year. They work hard but they negotiate their terms. If their employer wants to make more money, then they have to pay for it. Do not underestimate your worth. Hang in there. Always keep your eyes open. When you are good, other companies will woo you over to their side!
