Found this on my newsfeed, BioElements did a poll and here is what came up!  I figured we could all learn from this!

Well, I've tried numerous things and I have a tendency to dislike cold things. I even find the brush with a mask on it too cold and it drives me nuts.  I can barely tolerate the coolness of the toner. lol The girls at school used to make fun of me for it. I always use warm stuff and my hands are always HOT.  At the end I will say softly, this will be a bit cool because you can't say "This will freeze your face off now"

Number 3 is the worst!! I can even tell when they're
thirsty. Ugh!

The only ones that really bother me are 20, 19, 18, 14 & 11.  When I add a cold product to the face, (which I personally LOVE), I try not to speak if I've been quiet up until then (it's usually the mask for me), I try to just touch the tip of the brush to their forehead gently introducing the product, then just slowly spread it.  I rarely have anyone jump, or even notice.

I would add to this one - insufficient overlap of wiping on my upper lip.  I spent most of my teens and early 20's with zits right smack in the middle of my philtrum groove (google it), so I still feel weird if an esthetician does not sufficiently wipe off products in that spot.  It is extra reassuring when they wipe toner with both hands and overlap that spot a few times.  But if they just kind of graze over it, or worse, miss it when they are wiping each side, I freak out about getting a pimple there.  Weird!  I know!  Fortunately I tell this to everyone who works on me, so they can stress about not only giving a facial to an esthetician and spa owner, but also about some wacky toner preferences.

Love it!   I normally do not tell people what I do when I go somewhere to get a facial.  I have a groupon for a spa about 25 mins away from me that I'm using next month, and I don't plan to tell her what I do.  I like to just see what they do, see what I can learn from them, without them knowing they may be teaching me something.

I agree. I never tell them I am in the biz for the same reasons. Also, I don't want to "talk shop" and just want to take it all in and see what they do.  It also helps to remind me that I really give my all in a service if I am not getting it from another professional.

I just had a client tell me tat she loves hearing drawers and cabinets opening and closing during her facials! She says " it's weird, I knw." I just said lol!

One of the massage therapists I work with told me when she hears the products opening and mixing, etc, she feels like a magician is working magic potions on her face to make her look younger.  I thought that was great.  She said she loves that feeling.

Number five bothers me too.  I always wonder what's lurking under those nails.  I tried to let my nails grow for my wedding but it grossed me out when I was working on a client that I just couldn't do it.

I'm probably guilty of the leaving product on the face a time or two. and I am also guilty of number 3 when I feel fat and I try not to do extractions because I had a client complain of how painful they were. It totatlly freaked me out.  I almost got fired over it so I learned a good disencrustation technique and a good mask help take care of this!

I'm sooo self-conscious of what I eat or cook because of number 8. I had an otherwise excellent massage recently from a woman who I swear had been eating hummus right before my appointment, and it made me stress out wondering if she was stressing out over it haha.

Haha! Me too!!! I also brush, floss, and mouthwash.
